The Northenden Sessions

I'm pleased to announce a brand new experience/concept I like to call The Northenden Sessions. Its premiere will take place at The Britannia Airport Hotel (formerly The Post House) on Saturday 14th September 2013, but I will be presenting this unique experience across the country in the autumn.

It's an evening of two parts: The first of which will be an exhibition of my private collection of Northenden photographs, some are being shown for the very first time. These will be professionally displayed and promises to be a true "art gallery experience" the likes of which have never been seen outside London.

The second part will be a fascinating talk on the history of Northenden including some highly amusing anecdotes from my childhood. As the world's leading authority on Northenden, this is guaranteed to be unlike anything you've ever heard and I promise you'll be enthralled from start to finish!

To conclude my dear friend (and protege) John Foster will be conducting a question and answer session, where I'll be happy to answer any Northenden related question you may have, in my own inimitable style.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase some exclusive prints from my collection. Each one is numbered and signed and is guaranteed to become a collectors item. They will not be "cheap", but represent excellent value to the proud Northendenite and collector alike.

Demand for these tickets will be very high indeed, so if you're interested in attending, you must register your interest now. Tickets are just £35 each (sorry no concessions) and are strictly limited. A percentage of each sale will go to The Peter Renshaw Foundation.

The Northenden Sessions are also perfect for Round Table, Rotary Club, Lions, Masonic, etc, evenings/meetings so if you're interested please ask your secretary to contact my tour manager, John Foster who will be happy to help you.

I'm very excited about this new venture and look forward to meeting my fans and as ever, I'll be happy to sign autographs after the event has finished. I'd like to say a special "thank you" to John Foster for helping me turn my dream in to a reality.

  1. I'm humbled by the incredible response after I posted about The Northenden Sessions this morning. Almost half the tickets have already been sold and if this continues, I'll try to add an extra date, perhaps the following Sunday (22nd).

One of my fans is actually flying in from Australia just to attend the event. I promise I won't disappoint you.

  2. I wouldn't miss this for the world. I'm a massive fan of yours, Peter and can't wait. I was at your "Evening With" last year and you kindly posed for a couple of photographs which are now proudly displayed on my living room wall. You mentioned that you had a dream for a new event and you hoped you would be able to make an announcement in the near future. I'm guessing it was The Northenden Sessions you were referring to.

P.S. Was John the quiet dark haired gentleman sat at the back?

  3. Thanks for your comment Beryl, It'll be great to see you again. It was indeed The Northenden Sessions alluded to, but didn't want to say more as at that time it seemed like a massive task and I secretly wondered if it was even possible.

That was John sat at the back, though he'll be playing a much more visible role for The Northenden Sessions. It's largely due to him that this event is taking place at all.

For those of you who have already booked a ticket, I would like to say a big thank you. It looks as though it will be completely sold out within the next few days. I've just spoken to John and he will discuss the possibility of the extra date during his meeting with the hotel on Wednesday.

  4. Thanks for the e-ticket Peter. I'm very excited about this. As you know, me and my wife are big fans of yours too and we were both very upset to miss your event last year. A few of our neighbors went and were talking about it for weeks. I was determined not to miss this event - in fact I think most of Orchard Road will be there!

We will be making a donation to The Peter Renshaw Foundation later this week too. God bless you for all the good work you are doing for our community. You are quickly becoming Northenden's favourite son :-)

  5. Terry & Norma, you are very kind indeed. Looking forward to seeing you there.

As some of you may be aware, John and I have moved in to rented accommodation on Palatine Road especially for the planning of this event. This has been a LOT of work, but I know it will be worth it.

  6. Hello Peter. Several of your fans from Lingard Road will be coming along too. Some of us attended your "Evening With" last year and it was marvelous. We had a chat with John in the bar afterwards and he's a very interesting guy who is also passionate about Northenden. Glad he will be hosting the Q & A in The Northenden Sessions.

  7. Thank you for all your support. It means a lot to me.

The Northenden Sessions have now SOLD OUT. It's hard to believe that in less than 24 hours all the tickets have been sold. As mentioned above, due to popular demand, we will try to add an extra date (or maybe more) very soon. I'll post here as soon as John has discussed this with the hotel.

If you want to attend, please let me know now so I can add you to the waiting list.

  11. I've had a few emails asking about my yet unpublished book. The book, like The Northenden Sessions will be in two parts. The first part will be full of photos from my private collection. I'm talking about over 250 glorious photos of Northenden going back over a hundred years.

The second will be a complete history of Northenden - this has taken me over 10 years to write and is unbelievably detailed. This is the book that you've all been waiting for!

I can tell you now that this will be THE best book of its kind. I've had many publishers wanting to produce this and over the coming months, myself and John will be deciding which publisher deserves the job.

Talking of John, he has managed to unearth a very large number of Northenden photographs from a private collection and these will be included in the book.

We've not fully decided on a title yet, but it will probably be called Renshaw's Northenden - A Journey To The Motherland".

I think we're looking about a couple more years work before the book sees the light of day, but it will be a masterpiece, and will be the kind of work you've come to expect from me, perfection!
